Fire in Exclusion Zone Extinguished

Fire in the forest of the exclusion zone was extinguished at 5:50 PM.

25 units of equipment and 138 people were involved into extinguishing, of which 15 units of equipment and 116 people are from the State Emergency Situations Service.

25 units of fire extinguishing equipment and 138 people were involved into the extinguishing. The following of these units are from SSE Pivnichna Puscha: ten fire fighting vehicles, two auxiliary units (ARS-14) and three MTZ tractors with plows; 47 people of the staff of the forest fire stations and fire protection were also involved.

The radiation background in the city of Kyiv, Chornobyl and at ChNPP industrial site is within the standard limits, particularly:
the radiation background in the city of Kyiv is 12 µR/h (the safe level is up to 30 µR/h).

The radiation background in the city of Chornobyl makes up 31 µR/h (the safe level is up to 50 µR/h).

The radiation background at Chornobyl NPP industrial site is 51.6 µR/h (the safe level is up to 140 µR/h).

Let us remind that ignition of dry grass with further fire spreading to the forest area of about 12 hectares occurred in the exclusion zone on 5 June, 10:10 AM.

The fire was localized within the total area of about two hectares at 6:05 PM on 6 June.
