«Our Long Road to April»: SSTC NRS Organizes Book Presentation Featuring Author Nikolai Steinberg

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl NPP accident, SSTC NRS organizes the presentation of Nikolai Steinberg’s book «Our Long Road to April». The event will take place at Osvitoria Hub on April 22 at 18:00. Prior registration is required for admission.

Nikolai Steinberg worked his way up from operator to power unit shift supervisor and department head at the Chornobyl NPP, finally becoming Chief Engineer during the most challenging post-accident months.

In his book «Our Long Road to April» the author reconstructs the chain of events that led to the accident. He shows that the explosion was caused by design flaws in the RBMK-1000 and human error, as well as the absence of a legally regulated system to ensure nuclear safety in the USSR. During the presentation you will have the opportunity to ask the author questions about the details of the Chornobyl disaster and the events that led up to it. You will also learn the truth about the course of the investigation into the circumstances of the accident. The evening will conclude with a book signing session.
