Uatom.org Platform Update
Dear friends!
Just a year ago, we asked you how we could improve website usability, expand its functionality, and make the interface more intuitive. Today, we are pleased to announce the update of Uatom.org!
We have rebranded and launched a new Uatom.org website, which is an up-to-date, fast, easy-to-use, and intuitive platform for everyone. From now on, it will be significantly more comfortable to assess content on nuclear and radiation safety and nuclear non-proliferation.
Over the course of two years, we rethought every detail of the website: from the visual style and content structure to the design and functionality of each page. During the rebranding process, we preserved the recognizable color palette, expanding it with new shades to remain familiar to our audience. At the same time, the new logo and updated typography make the website even more expressive and progressive.
We faced the important task of preserving all existing content and making navigation through the main sections of the website faster and more accessible. That is why we completely reorganized the site structure, grouping thematic sections in the main menu and presenting different content formats on the homepage. Navigating section pages has become easier thanks to the introduction of a side navigation panel, which provides instant switching between subsections, while a new tagging system helps readers easily find thematically related materials.
As part of this update, Section “Chronology of Events in the Nuclear Industry during the War in Ukraine” was also redesigned. It is now presented in the format of an interactive timeline, allowing users to conveniently navigate between years and months and get an overview of key events in their chronological order.
We have also improved the design of pages containing a large amount of media content by optimizing their structure and visual presentation. The updated photo report and survey pages are now more structured and easier to perceive. Changes have also been made to the announcements section. The widget has been transformed into a full-fledged calendar-style page with individual pages for each announcement, significantly simplifying the search for events.
In addition, we saw great potential in the blog as a platform for professional discussions in the area of nuclear and radiation safety. We created author pages to enable the public to learn about the diverse opinions from respected experts, join discussions, and ask important questions. So, every blog author on Uatom.org has their own page where all their publications are presented in one place.
There is still a lot of work to be done on content, but we are incredibly happy to invite everyone to the updated Uatom.org website: explore the new sections, use the expanded functionality, and, as they say, don’t lose sight of our new logo.
