Radiation Source Revealed at Prydniprovsky Chemical Plant Site

In May 2025, specialists of the SE Barrier discovered a radiation source at the industrial site of the former Prydniprovsky Chemical Plant located in the city of Kamianske in Dnipropetrovsk region. 

A cylindrical object containing Ra-226 radiation source was partially located on the ground within a fenced area. The equivalent dose rate reached up to 10.0 µSv/h (at a distance of 0.1 m).

Radioactive material was removed from the site and transported to the RADON Association for temporary storage.

The information on radioactive material revealed in illicit trafficking was added to the IAEA Incident and Trafficking Database (ITDB).
