Radioactive Source Revealed at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

An object marked ‘Cs-137’ was revealed at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” The incident occurred in March 2025 on the 3rd floor in Building 1. The equivalent dose rate reached up to 1.9 µSv/h (at a distance of 0.1 m).

Radioactive material was removed from the site and transported to RADON USC for temporary storage.

The information on radioactive material revealed in illicit trafficking was added to the IAEA Incident and Trafficking Database (ITDB).
