Ukraine Summer Internship Argonne National Laboratory Program announces call for applications
From July 21 to August 8, 2025, a training for senior students of Ukrainian specialized universities will be held at the SSTC NRS, organized by Argonne National Laboratory (USA). This is a unique educational project for 4th to 6th-year students of engineering specialties from Ukrainian universities.
Students studying in the following fields are invited:
- nuclear power engineering
- thermal power engineering;
- hydropower engineering;
- and related engineering specialities.
The programme includes 4 study modules:
- U.S. novel technologies and innovative approaches to design of nuclear reactors
- NPPs safety review;
- Key areas for assessing progress in the deployment of advanced reactors;
- Result of the R&D project for nuclear reactors.
The training format includes thematic lectures by Ukrainian specialists and experts from Argonne National Laboratory; practical classes; discussions and debates; and an educational trip to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
A mandatory requirement is proficiency in English at a level sufficient for understanding professional information, communication, and active participation in an English-language training program. During the selection process, special attention will be given to the candidates’ level of knowledge and their motivation for professional development in the field of nuclear energy.
We are looking for participants who have a clear vision of their future in the nuclear field and are eager to contribute to the development of this sector.
Students who pass the competitive selection process will receive scholarships for the duration of the training. The most successful graduates will have a unique opportunity to visit Argonne National Laboratory in the United States.
