From 19 to 21 November 2024, the SSTC NRS, as part of the Communication Project, will host a series of webinars for media representatives, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders on nuclear and radiation safety during wartime.
The series includes three webinars addressing the most pressing issues in nuclear and radiation safety:
- radiation hazards, personal protective equipment, rules for the management of radiation sources, checks for radionuclides and radon, NPP emergency actions, and iodine prophylaxis;
- key aspects of power unit construction and public involvement in NPP construction projects;
- NPP safety systems and safety analysis of the Zaporizhzhia NPP under occupation.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers during the webinars.

The broadcast link will be sent to the email address provided during registration, which is required.
Our goal is to enhance foundational knowledge of nuclear and radiation safety for journalists and opinion leaders, clarify radiological risks during war and military operations, and outline the specifics of preparing communications in the event of a nuclear or radiation threat.
The Communication Project is being implemented through the collaboration of the SNRIU and the Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA). It aims to establish a unified approach to crisis communication and mitigate risks associated with professional duties involving nuclear and radiation threats.
