Program or Purpose: Will provide an opportunity for nuclear safety regulators, industry, and research organizations to share their perspectives on how the Fukushima Daiichi accident has been used to inform accident management approaches for operating and future reactors, as well as the potential for improvement.
It will also address research opportunities and capabilities offered by operators of research facilities.
Thus, it will be a forum where regulators, industry and researchers will exchange views on potential future collaborative research.
Discussions at the workshop will lead to recommendations on research directions, opportunities and stakeholder engagement needed to continue to support the development of optimized accident management strategies for operating and future reactors.
