Uatom.org editorial board tries to follow modern trends, develop and fill the website with the most current news of the industry. We are planning to update our platform to further develop Uatom.org website and its structure, increase the number of new publications and photo materials, attract more readers and, of course, improve the quality of information on nuclear and radiation safety issues.
In spring 2024, our readers had a chance to take an online public opinion poll to help us improve the website, make the interface more user-friendly and expand its features.
According to the results of the online survey, 94.7 % readers stated that they like using the website. 5.3 % stated that it is necessary to improve the mobile version and update the interface.

The majority of readers (47.4 %) visit the website right after the publication of the link on the Facebook page. 15.8 % of respondents stated that they visit the website several times a week while other 15.8 % of respondents chose an option for 2-3 times a month. 21.1 % of respondents do not visit the website regularly (several times a year).

Following the information from our readers, the News section is the most popular, since it is read by 52.6 % of users. The Articles and Interviews section is popular among 26.3 % respondents, while the Public Opinion Poll section is viewed by 15.8 % of users and the Photo Reports section – by 5.3 %.

The Latest Updates widget is the most often used website feature that is popular among 47.4 % of users. The second and third places belong to the search bar and the slider on the main page, since they are used by 26.3 % of readers.

According to 26.3 % of users, the navigation of the main page needs to be improved. 15.8 % of respondents stated on the need to improve the slider on the main page. 10.5 % of respondents sought update of the search bar, while other 10.5 % of respondents stated the same about the design. 5.3 % of poll participants chose an option for the improvement of the Latest Updates widget. The rest stated that they like the website.

We also asked users to select features they would like to see on the new website. Therefore, 21.1 % of users offered to extend the available features with video content, 15.8 % would like the editorial board to make a podcast. Opinions divided on the following issues, where 10.5 % of readers found it necessary to add brief news in one or two sentences, 10.5 % wanted the distribution of news by countries, 10.5 % sought a separate section on educational materials, another 10.5 % wanted the possibility to take surveys on the website and 10.5 % more wanted to leave comments and likes on the News and Articles page. 5.3 % of users offered to extend the website with an endless newsfeed and another 5.3 % of users wanted a separate section with infographics.
