Danish University Will Establish a New Center for Nuclear Research
The Technical University of Denmark (TUD (Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, DTU)) will establish a new interdisciplinary centre “DTU Nuclear Energy Technology”. The new center will consolidate research in the field of nuclear power technologies and strengthen cooperation between the relevant research environments, which are currently based in the faculties of physics, energy, chemistry and engineering.
The purpose of the new centre will be to: attract and support academic talent to strengthen research in nuclear energy technologies; expand capacities for teaching and supervision of students, including PhD students; create experimental basis for such areas as characterization of materials and simulation of new reactor technologies; strengthen collaboration with Danish and international companies.
The new center will ensure that Denmark continues to have strong competences in this field and will cooperate with Danish and international companies working on the development of new types of reactors.
