Fuelling Europe's Future – Uranium Supply, Conversion and Enrichment
Registration deadline
Дата: 25.10.2023
When: 25 October 2023
Where: Brussels and Online
Organizer: European Nuclear Society
Today, 100 commercial nuclear power plants operate across 12 EU Member States. The demand for natural uranium in the EU represents approximately 18% of global uranium requirements, and more than 12,000 tU/year are expected to be required until 2031.
Despite the supply of natural uranium, enrichment and conversion services are well secured for the coming years, in the medium-term market access to those services may be insufficient for the EU players, and further investments in the fuel cycle are crucial for long-term security of supply. Furthermore, the current geopolitical situation highlights the need for additional efforts towards the diversification of suppliers.
Following the presentation of the latest Euratom Supply Agency Report on the security of the European fuel supply, we will discuss this challenging landscape and explore possible strategies together with our speakers:
Sarah Forman, Head of Strategy, Urenco
Fernando Lozano, Procurement Director, Enusa
Jean-Michel Guiheux, Vice-President Sourcing & Supply Contracts, Orano
This session will be moderated by Kamen Kraev, Secretary General, NucNet.
You can attend the event on-site or via live streaming. It is free of charge, but we ask you to register:
