Russia Moves Tactical Nuclear Weapons to Belarus
Polish President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa that russia starts moving its nuclear weapons to Belarus.
For the first time, plans to place russian nuclear weapon on the territory of Belarus were announced at the end of March, and on 25 May, the ministers of defense of russia and Belarus signed the documents on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory. russia, by deploying the non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, does not transfer it to the republic, but moscow controls it and decides on its use.
Tactical nuclear weapon is intended for use on the battlefield and have a short range and a low yield compared with much more powerful nuclear warheads fitted to long-range missiles.
“This step of russian federation will change the architecture of security in our immediate neighborhood, and also of the eastern flank of NATO, and for all of the alliance”, – said Andrzej Duda.
The Uatom.org website editors emphasize that nuclear weapon is a weapon of mass destruction aimed at killing the civilians. russia once again neglects the nuclear and radiation safety of the world, destroys the established safety system and creates new threats for nuclear weapon proliferation. The editors of the Uatom.org website condemn the new step of russian federation in moving nuclear weapons to Belarus and appeal to the international community to take measures to prevent russian nuclear threats and start of the nuclear war.
