SSTC NRS will hold an open educational webinar on nuclear and radiation safety
This Thursday, the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety will hold an open educational webinar on NRS and talk about wartime radiation challenges. This event was arranged in response to numerous requests from citizens with the aim of raising public awareness and refuting false information.
The webinar will be prepared and presented by Zakhar Ivanov, expert of the SSTC NRS Emergency Preparedness and Radiation Monitoring Department.
A wide range of issues was considered during the meeting, including nuclear safety in Ukraine taking into account recent events: what a nuclear reactor is and how it operates; how to protect yourself in case of a radiation accident; what personal protective equipment exists and what to keep in an emergency suitcase; when iodine prophylaxis is necessary and what does it protect; how and by what means radiation measurements of exposure are carried out and how to interpret their results, etc.
We are sure that you have many other questions on this topic, so get answers from a competent source – the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, which has been working in this area for more than 30 years.
