Attempt to Sell Radioactive Substance for $ 2 Million in Georgia
Yesterday, on 1 May, employees of the State Security Service of Georgia detained a man for an attempt of illegal selling of a radioactive substance. The detainee planned to sell the radioactive substance in the city of Poti for $2,000,000.
According to the radiological survey results, the radioactive substance obtained during the search contains uranium and belongs to nuclear material category.
The Counterintelligence Department of the State Security Service of Georgia is currently conducting an investigation. The detainee faces imprisonment for a term from five to ten years for illegal handling of nuclear materials.
