NuScale Power signs MOU with Korea’s Doosan Enerbility and the Export-Import Bank of Korea
NuScale Power Corporation announced today signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Doosan Enerbility of Korea and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) to strengthen cooperation between the three parties and support NuScale’s Small Modular Reactor (SMR) deployment worldwide.
The MOU foresees cooperation in areas such as marketing, technical support and further development of the global supply chain. In particular, Doosan pledged to help create a supply chain in the United States for the production of NuScale power modules by expanding production capacity and improving production technologies.
As a reminder, NuScale ordered the manufacture of long-cycle equipment for the reactor upper vessel from South Korean company Doosan Enerbility in late 2022, including materials required for the production of the first NuScale Power modules, which are to be commercially commissioned as part of the Associated Utah Municipal Power Systems Carbon-Free Energy project as early as 2029.
