Radiation Sources Detected in Kyiv

At the end of April, representatives of Mayak Plant detected suspicious items on the territory of the production building, which have signs of radiation sources and have high radiation levels.

On 26 April 2022, the competent authorities were notified, which drew up a respective Act and decided to transfer the seized items, the equivalent dose rate of which exceeds the established reference levels for storage in a specialized institution.

The items were confiscated in accordance with the requirements of the Procedure for Interaction of Executive Bodies and Legal Entities Carrying Out Activities in the Field of Nuclear Energy Use in Case of Detection of Radionuclide Radiation Sources in Illicit Circulation, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 813 dated 02 June 2003.
