Webinar “Quality Assurance and Patient Dosimetry in Radiology”
Registration deadline
Дата: 05.10.2021
Organized by: Nordic Association for Clinical Physics (NACP)
The Nordic Association for Clinical Physics (NACP) is an umbrella organization for all medical physicists working in the Nordic countries. One of the sub-committees of the NACP is the Radiological Physics Committee (RPC), which have been organizing courses in diagnostic physics every 2 years for the past decade. This year the course will be digital for the first time, and the course will be conducted by the European Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (EFOMP).
The topic of the first webinar is “Quality Assurance and Patient Dosimetry in Radiology”. Each webinar will also include a practical demonstration of a topic related to quality control or dosimetry.
The course purpose is to introduce medical physicists to new tools and methods that can be applied in QA procedures to improve work efficiency and quality. These methods include automation of image-based QA, application of model observers and artificial intelligence based image quality analysis. The course also includes topics related to patient specific dosimetry, dose tracking and protocol management systems; tools that are essential for a medical physicist. The course will also discuss how to adopt these topics in training of future medical physicists.
The RPC course is mainly aimed at medical physicists working in radiology. The topics are especially relevant for physicists who are still in training, but historically, medical physics experts, radiographers, radiologists and technicians are used to take part in the courses. This year’s course is mainly suitable for diagnostic physicists due to the QA-related topics.
The program involves a series of 5 webinars lasting 3 hours held twice a month from October to December 2021.
