The international conference “Novel Vision of Scientific and Technical Support for Regulation of Nuclear Energy Safety: Competence, Transparency, Responsibility” will take place on 22-23 March 2017 in the conference hall of VD MAIS Office Center.

The State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS) is arranging this event. The conference is dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of SSTC NRS.

On 22 March, two plenary sessions “Key Principles of Scientific and Technical Support for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiation Safety” and “Key Constituents of TSO Activities. Scientific and Technical Safety Aspects” will take place under this event. Experienced experts from the European Technical Safety Organizations Network (ETSON), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC), Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA), Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN, France), and others will present their reports.

On 23 March, plenary session “Nuclear and Radiation Safety – Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” will be conducted to discuss the most important issues in this area by international and Ukrainian experts, including: new fuel implementation, prospects for Chornobyl exclusion zone transformation, status and issues of radioactive waste management in Ukraine, significant role of interaction in nuclear safety area, etc.
